Initial First Steps 

After we first make contact with the homeowner to go over exactly what they want and schedule the project consultation, the fun really begins! During the project consultation, we assess the home top to bottom to give the client our most accurate estimates in terms of price and timeframe. 

It’s during this phase that your Project Manager will give you detailed steps on how to specifically prepare your specific home for the siding replacement process. 

Preparing Your Home In Advance 

To get our team started on your home’s renovations in a timely manner, every homeowner can take a few basic steps to speed things along. 

• Move all outdoor furniture, lawn equipment, trashcans, and other items away from the entire perimeter of the home 
• Trim bushes, trees, and other branchy plants to give the workers more space to work with 
• Keeping the grass in the yard cut short will make it much easier for workers to find dropped materials such as nails, screws, staples, or other unpleasant yard ornaments
• Designate at least one outdoor electrical outlet to be used for the workers’ power tools 
• Because the walls may shake during the removal and installation process, removing wall decor and items on shelves can save you heartache in the long run 
• Prepare your driveway or street for the arrival of a dumpster, where else will the old siding and other materials go? 

Old Siding Removal 

Now that you made things a little easier for our crew, we can get right to work removing the old siding! We will first assess the outdoor of the home the day of once again, this time taking into account current and semi-future weather conditions. 

We may remove one section of siding at a time depending on these variables in order to avoid exposing the bones of the house to outdoor elements. If the weather is looking good in the foreseeable future, we may remove the siding around the entire home before moving on to the next stage. 

Next, our team assesses beneath the siding, searching for rot or other signs of damage. Because we cannot install new siding or installation on top of rot or similar conditions, we meet back up with the homeowner to formulate a game plan if these things are found during the inspection.  

In most cases, new siding and insulation can be installed with no further difficulties. 

New Insulation Is A Must 

If your siding needs to be replaced, there’s a high chance the insulation behind the siding is also compromised. We typically always coincide an insulation installation in tandem with a siding replacement itosave time and money.

Time To Install The New Siding!

After the old siding has been removed, all repairs have been made, and the insulation is professionally installed, it’s time to install the new siding! 

The amount of time a siding replacement project takes varies on the size of your home, the difficulty of the repairs/installation process, and weather conditions. 

If the weather holds up and your home is in relatively good shape, an experienced siding team, such as ourselves, can typically have your new siding installed in 7-14 days. 

After the siding is in place, we install a fascia board and trim around the entire home.
